The Carter Mission Report

Debert Baptist received a detailed report today on the mission the church supports in the Czech Republic. Dr. Jeff Carter and his family were home to complete a summer of presentations to the many churches that support their missionary effort in Europe. The presentation in Debert was the last before the Carters return to the mission field.

Hurricane Service on Wednesday

Leaders of Debert Baptist Church decided early today to cancel their weekly worship serice because of the threat posed by Hurricane Bill. It was a reluctant decision as some felt the storm would not reach the area till afternoon. However, caution won the day.

The news did not sit well with Pastor Bill.

Family Portapicnic

Portapique Swimmers The second annual church family picnic was held at the Jennings cottage in Portapique. Now dubbed the "Portapicnic", today's event was held in ideal conditions, both on land and in the water.

After School Program

Our new Junior Church, is underway. Children of elementary school age are taught, supervised and cared for at Debert Baptist Church each school day from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.

This Christian education program is offered at no charge, although parents who are able may contribute toward expenses.
