Debert Baptist received a detailed report on the mission the church supports in the Czech Republic. Dr. Jeff Carter and his family were home to complete a summer of presentations to the many churches that support their missionary effort in Europe. The presentation in Debert was the last before the Carters return to the mission field.

Dr. Carter, who seems to be more comfortably known as Jeff, took the church on a tour de force throughout Europe. The Carters negan their humble mission in 2002. They were breaking new ground so there was no template to follow and no standards to be met.

The Carters established their mission under the banner of Canadian Baptist Ministries but their work involved development of a youth program under the European Baptist Federation. That work has grown to reach 54 countries.

Who could have imagined suvh growth? Jeff and Deann remain humble in their service and the Lord continues to bless their ministry.

Jeff has developed a leadership program to teach youth leaders. Now spreading throughout those 54 countries, his program is being readied for North America. What goes around comes around, as the world is adopting the program.

Dr. Carter's video presentation guided Debert's Baptists through a series of developments. He noted the number of languages and cultures through which he must operate. Translating God's word, Christian books and program materials is a challenge but he has found supporters throughout Europe.

One astounding fact he revealed is that 98% of those leaders are volunteers. Far from the story here, most Christian leaders in Europe are working for God with no expectation of finacial reward. That is a Christian statement.

Dean added to the story as she talked about family life in Prague. Joined by her children Zachary and Matthew, we learned detail that even included the family dog and cat.

Deann is active in the ministry and shares many stories that centre on family and reach the heart.

The Carters are supported in their ministry by a number of churches, including Debert Baptist. They expressed their sincere appreciation to the church, not just for the financial aid but especially for the on-going prayers that the Lord will continue to bless them as they reach souls and offer blessings to others.

The family will take a short rest and then return to Prague to resume the teaching program, ministry and daily life in mission.
