Birthday Boys Were All Smiles

It was the oldest boy, it was the youngest boy. The birthday boys were all smiles today as Debert Baptist hosted its Celebration Sunday to honour those with a birthday or anniversary during September.

Doug Slack celebrated his 92nd while Landon Higgens heard his birthday song for just the second time. Despite the 90 year separation in ages, the two boys seem to spend a lot of time together while at church.

The birthday boys are shown at right with Linda Chapman who celebrated right along with them.

It was a busy month for DBC, with ten birthdays and a pair of anniversaries. The church gathers on the last Sunday of each month for a celebration luncheon following the regular Worship Service. While the main course is a pot-luck affair, the big and special birthday cake is a constant.

After School Program

Our new Junior Church, is underway. Children of elementary school age are taught, supervised and cared for at Debert Baptist Church each school day from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.

This Christian education program is offered at no charge, although parents who are able may contribute toward expenses.

Registration is required.
