Worship on Wednesday • 7:00 to 8:00 • Life and faith lessons for adults.

Join Pastor Bill in his personal devotional, expanded to make a "Point of the Day" for each of us to follow.

Different every week, it may be a discussion group or a leader guided tour of Biblical mystery. We often use video to make a point and focus our discussion. The constantly changing focus ensures, over time, there is something for everyone.

Just as Jesus invited you, come as you are: no charge, no dress code; no strings attached. You are always welcome at The Village Church.

Who planned the execution of John the Baptist?

It seems people are very familiar with the stories surrounding John the Baptist. While not everybody answered correctly, everybody was, at least, on the right track.

Two thirds of our respondents correctly identified Herodias (Matthew 14:3-8) as the plotter fatale. The other one third named Herod the Great. Although that is the wrong answer, it is just technically wrong. You see, Herod and Herodias were Mr. and Mrs., so it is not beyond the realm of reason to deduce that he had something to do with what she was thinking.

For those of you who want to split hairs or blame the lady, then Herodias is the culprit.
